Madagascar – march 2010

In 2008 started the planning of a trip to Madagascar in  october 2009, but due to political troubles and riots on Madagascar the trip had to be postponed to march 2010.  We where in total 9 people travelling, up on landing in Antananarivo, 2 of them flew directly to Nosy Be to concentrate on the Panther Chameleons. The rest of us took the drive south to Ranomafana, and then north again to Andasibe before we also spent the last week on Nosy Be.

All in all we saw many fantastic species, and had a fantastic trip.  But now, 5 years later, I would say this trip would be planned rather differently if I was to do it again – and hopefully I will!   I would spend more time in each spot, and more time on the trail. Trying to find more species, and off course using more time to photograph them.   Here is some pictures of our trip

The trip did not consist of reptiles and amphibians only – there where also plenty of lemurs and insects.  Event though they where not our primary targets, we took time to photograph some of them also!
